This sculpture represents the priestly dress and the sacrifices detailed in the Book of Leviticus. In this rendition there is only one raised corner, in contrast to the biblical altar. This emphasizes that the sacrifice of animals disappeared from Jewish rituals and religious practice with the destruction of the Second Temple.

From the series Scripture as Sculpture: Personal interpretation of Jewish sources.
